2. HOW TO ENTER: The SMP Virtual Quilt Fest (“Giveaway”) begins at 12:00:01 AM Central Time (“CT”) on January, 2024 and ends at 11:59:59 PM PT on March 14, 2024 (the “Giveaway Entry Period”). To enter, log on to the SMP Virtual Quilt Fest page at www.sewingmachinesplus.com/ virtual-quilt-fest.php, enter your valid email address next to the “Sign Up!” button, and then click the “Sign Up!” button. You may enter only once; only one entry per person is permitted. Use of any robotic, automatic, scripted, programmed, or similar entry method or entering more than the number of times permitted will void all entries and result in disqualification. You may not enter multiple times by using multiple email addresses, identities, or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules. In the event of a dispute over the identity of an entrant, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.

4. ELIGIBILITY: The Giveaway is open to individuals who are legal residents of the 50 United States or District of Columbia aged 21 or older. Employees of Sponsor and the prize providers (Designs in Machine Embroidery (DIME), Brother International Corporation, Martelli, Handi Quilter, Baby Lock Inc., Grace Company Inc., Janome Inc. and any others), and their respective affiliated companies and advertising and promotion agencies and anyone involved with the Giveaway (collectively, “Giveaway Entities”), and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to enter or win. Void where prohibited by law.
   
   
5. PRIZE: There is one prize, and one winner will be selected. The prize is described as a “Dream Studio,” with an Approximate Retail Value (“AR”) of $25,000.00.
6. DRAWING: The one winner will be determined on March 15, 2024 in a random drawing from all eligible entries received during the Giveaway Entry Period. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Giveaway Entry Period. Winner is responsible for all local, state and federal taxes and fees, if any. No substitution permitted or cash equivalent, except in the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Prize is non-transferrable. If the prize value awarded is $600 or over, an IRS form 1099 will be filed in the name of the winner as required by law.
   
   
7. WINNER NOTIFICATION: The winner will be notified via the email they provided at entry. In order to be eligible to be awarded the prize, the winner must execute an affidavit of eligibility and release (“Release”) within 7 days of the prize notification email being sent to them. If the winner does not respond to the winner notification email (email will be sent 3 times over a 5 day period) within 7 days, or if said email is returned as undeliverable, or if the potential prize winner does not return the completed and executed Release within 7 days, or if an entrant is otherwise found to be ineligible, does not provide required information, or if the selected winner cannot accept or receive the prize for any reason, the potential prize winner will forfeit the prize and an alternate winner will be selected from among the remaining eligible entries. The Sponsor reserves the right to modify the notification procedures in connection with the selection of an alternate winner. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use the winner’s name, prize won, town where winner is located and likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation or right of approval, unless prohibited by law. The prize providers will send the prize to the address provided by the winner.
   
   
8. RELEASE: All decisions and results of Sponsor are final and binding in all matters relating to this Giveaway. By entering the Giveaway, entrants accept and agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, and on their behalf, and on behalf of their respective heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, successors and assigns (“Releasing Parties”), release, defend and hold harmless the Giveaway Entities, as well as the respective employees, officers, directors and agents of each (“Released Parties”), from any and all actions, causes of action, suits, indirect or direct damages, including consequential damages, incidental damages, punitive or exemplary damages, judgments, claims and demands whatsoever, in law or equity, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, against Released Parties which any one or more of the Releasing Parties ever had, now have or hereafter can, shall or may have which in any way arise out of or result from entrant’s participation, acceptance and use or misuse of any prize. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Giveaway or in the announcement of any prize. The winners acknowledge that the Sponsor and all other businesses concerned with this Giveaway and their agents do not make, nor are in any manner responsible for any warranty or representations, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the quality, conditions, fitness or merchantability of any aspect of the prize except that such prize shall be subject to manufacturer’s standard warranty. Sponsor will not be liable if Sponsor is prevented from continuing with the Giveaway as contemplated herein by any event beyond its control, including but not limited to fire, flood, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, terrorist threat or activity, war (declared or undeclared) or any federal, state, or local government law, order, or regulation, or order of any court or other cause not within Sponsor’s control. Entrants assume all liability for any injury, including death or damage caused or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Giveaway or use or redemption of any prize. Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify from any Giveaway it sponsors any person it believes has intentionally violated these Official Rules; and terminate the Giveaway if it becomes technically corrupted (including if a computer virus or system malfunction inalterably impairs its ability to conduct the Giveaway), or to select winners from among all eligible entries received prior to termination. CHOICE OF LAW AND FORUM: Entrant agrees that all matters arising out of or relating to this Giveaway and these Official Rules are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of California, without giving effect to any conflict of laws provisions thereof. To enter, follow the submission entry instructions at www.sewingmachinesplus.com/ virtual-quilt-fest.php. You may enter only twice; only two entries per person are permitted (One for each category). Use of any robotic, automatic, scripted, programmed, or similar entry method or entering more than the number of times permitted will void all entries and result in disqualification. You may not enter multiple times by using multiple email addresses, identities, or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules. Employees of Sponsor and the prize providers (Designs in Machine Embroidery (DIME), Brother International Corporation, Martelli, Handi Quilter, Baby Lock Inc., Grace Company Inc., Janome Inc. and any others), and their respective affiliated companies and advertising and promotion agencies and anyone involved with the Contest (collectively, “Contest Entities”), and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to enter or win. Void where prohibited by law.
   1. Entrants may not submit any content that (i) contains any elements that violate a third party’s copyrights or trademark rights or (ii) depicts any individuals who have not granted permission to be featured.
   2. No project submitted may have been previously submitted in a national level show.
   3. The project must have been completed after January 1, 2023.
   4. The Sponsor reserves the right to remove inappropriate entries for any reason.
   
   
   

The prize consists of only those items specifically listed as part of the prize. The winner is not permitted to substitute any items or transfer the prize to someone else. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Any difference between stated value and actual value will not be awarded. No cash equivalent permitted.


5. JUDGING: Voting by the public is open from March 4, 2024 through March 14, 2024. Voting by the panel of judges take place during Quilt Fest 2024. Quilts will be judged on the following criteria:
   1. Visual impact
      1. Visually appealing
      2. Color palette appealing
      3. Balanced design
      4. Creativity
      5. Contrast/value engaging
      6. Proportional
   2. Piecing and Borders Workmanship
      1. Square blocks
      2. Lies flat
   3. Special Techniques and Workmanship
      1. Embroidery, beading, trapunto, appliques, etc. are well-executed
      2. Should complement the quilt
      3. Should lie flat
   4. Quilting Workmanship
      1. Piece equally quilted, equal density throughout
      2. Quilting complements the quilt
      3. Quilting thread color(s) complement the design
   5. Finishing and Binding
      1. Quilt lies flat
      2. Appropriate to the d
   The winners will be determined on March 15th, 2024. Any tie will be broken by the vote of Blaine Austin, who will use the criteria set forth above.
   
   
6. PERMISSION TO USE IMAGES: All images submitted to the Sponsor as part of the Contest become the property of the Sponsor. The Sponsor may use the same for publicity and/or advertising.
   
   
7. WINNER NOTIFICATION: The winners will be notified on March 18, 2024 via the email they provided at entry. In order to be eligible to be awarded the prize, the winners must execute (a) an affidavit that affirms the winner’s eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules and (b) a release (collectively, the “Release”) within 7 days of the prize notification email being sent to them.
